Fall Show: After The Blast
Years ago, the environment became uninhabitable from humans and people had to retreat underground. All pleasure is now simulated by chips implanted in the brain, and fertility is regulated. Anna and Oliver want to have a baby, but Anna keeps failing the mental health exam. So, in an attempt to help Anna, Oliver gets her the closest thing to a baby he can: a robot.
Winter Show: The Courtroom, A Re-Enactment of One Woman’s Deportation Proceedings
An intimate encounter with our nation’s immigration court system, The Courtroom follows Elizabeth Keathley, an immigrant from the Philippines who was married to a U.S. Citizen came to this country in 2004 on a K3 Visa. When applying for her driver’s license at an Illinois DMV, Keathley inadvertently said “yes” to the form question of registering to vote, and subsequently received a voter registration card in the mail. With this card, Keathley voted in a midterm congressional election, violating U.S. election law. When the mistake was discovered at her citizenship hearings, the Department of Homeland Security ordered her deportation. Elizabeth Keathley’s case went from Chicago Immigration Court all the way to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Created from verbatim transcripts, THE COURTROOM is an uncanny examination of the U.S. immigration system and one woman at its mercy.

Pipeline tells the story of Nya, a teacher, and her son Omari, who attends private school. It takes an in-depth look at how the American educational system’s pitfalls, particularly for its Black students.
